Scott Allen Thomas Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

RICHMOND, Ind. – Scott Allen Thomas, age 67, of Richmond, Indiana, won the race on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at 6:10 a.m. surrounded by family and peacefully entered into his reward. Born December 19, 1954, in York, Pennsylvania, to Harold and Elaine Senft Thomas, Scott had lived in this area since 1969. He graduated from Centerville High School. Scott worked at NATCO as a tool and die maker and worked as a parts specialist for Studebaker Buick. He had many hobbies including woodworking, tinkering, watching car racing on TV, and collecting all kinds of memorabilia. Scott also enjoyed swimming, camping, and participating in car shows. He was a member of Ravinia Park Baptist Church which was formerly New Hope Baptist Church. Scott’s favorite things in life were his faith in God, his family, and especially his grandbabies. His message to everyone is “We’ll be ok!” Survivors include his wife of almost 49 years, Janie E. Bass Thomas, to whom he was married August 5, 1973; daughter, Jessicca (Dallas) Griffin of Richmond; son, Seth Thomas of Centerville; grandchildren, Landen Scott Griffin and Adeline Quinn Griffin; brother, Mike (Sharon) Thomas of Richmond; nieces; nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; uncle, Carl Thomas; and father and mother-in-law, James and Jean Bass. Visitation for Scott Allen Thomas will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Smith and Rev. Ed McFarland officiating. Burial will follow in Goshen Cemetery.
