CENTERVILLE, Ind. – Joseph Raymond “Ray” Ferriell, age 95, of Centerville, Indiana, died Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Reid Health. Born August 23, 1926, in Cleveland, Ohio, to William and Nettie Smith Ferriell, Ray lived in Centerville most of his life. He was a 1945 graduate of Centerville High School, served in the United States Army, and worked all his life as a farmer. Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Jeannine Ferriell, to whom he was married January 24, 1948; daughters, Rae Marie Ferriell-Woolpy of Richmond, Indiana, and Jane (Rick) Risinger of Westfield, Indiana; sons, Philip (Karen) Ferriell of Hagerstown, Indiana, and Mike (Teri) Ferriell of Greens Fork, Indiana; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; brother, Johnny Ferriell of Richmond; nieces; nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elizabeth Fudge; and brother, Edwin “Ed” Ferriell. Private family services for Joseph Raymond “Ray” Ferriell will be held at a later date.
