Obituary:
RICHMOND, Ind. – Cathy Anne Platfoot, age 41, of Richmond, died Monday, March 8, 2010, at Indiana University Hospital after a 22 year struggle with PNH and a bone marrow transplant recipient. Born October 5, 1968, in Richmond, to Gary and Patricia Snow Platfoot, she was a life-long resident of Richmond. Cathy was a 1986 graduate of Richmond High School and attended University of Cincinnati and Wright State University. She enjoyed amusement parks especially Kings Island, watching movies and TV, keeping in touch with her friends on the computer, playing games, and spending time with her family. Cathy loved her dogs, Abby and Buddy. Survivors include her father, Gary Platfoot of West Carrolton, Ohio; mother, Patricia Snow Drook and her husband Thomas of Richmond; brother, Jeffrey Raper of Richmond; two step-sisters, Angie Jordan and her husband Dave of Centerville and Gina Goodman and her husband Brad of Brownsville; one step-brother, Tony Drook and his wife Amy of Centerville; maternal grandfather, Arlace Moore; aunts, Becky Lindsey and her husband David of Richmond, Julie Cook and her husband John of Williamsburg, and Carol Taggart of New Paris, Ohio; uncle, Bryan Moore of Richmond; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ivoe and Corrine Platfoot, and maternal grandmother, Louise Moore. Visitation for Cathy Anne Platfoot will be from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010 at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery.
