Obituary:
RICHMOND, Ind. – John R. Crisp, age 79, of Richmond, died Friday, January 4, 2013, at Reid Hospital. Born July 15, 1933, in Chautauqua County, Kansas, to Edward and Dora Crisp, he was the youngest of nine children. John lived in this area most of his life. He was a graduate of Peru High School in Kansas and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. John worked for General Telephone as a cable splicer. He enjoyed golfing and bowling. Survivors include his wife, Florence Skipsey Crisp, to whom he was married December 31, 1954; daughters, Deborah (Mac) Kavanaugh of Kuttawa, Kentucky, and Marjorie Santner of Richmond; four grandchildren, Bridget Parker of Noblesville, Indiana, Thomas (Tiffany) Anderson of Solsbury, Indiana, Meagan Santner of Richmond, and Michael Santner of Patrick Air Force Base, Florida; five great-grandchildren; brother, George (Flo) Crisp of Wichita, Kansas; sisters, Katherine Adkins of Derby, Kansas, and Ellen (Bill) Burton of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, John Crisp Jr.; his parents; brothers, Dennis Crisp, Wilbert “Webb” Crisp, and Kenneth Crisp; and sisters, Mary Miller and Jean Burton. Visitation for John R. Crisp will be from 12 to 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2013, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2013, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Dr. Martin Holman officiating. Burial will be in St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery.
