Obituary:
RICHMOND, Ind. – Clifford C. Wagner, age 86, of Richmond, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at Reid Hospital. Born January 29, 1926, in Massillon, Ohio, to Carl and Ruth Shelter Wagner, he lived in this area since 1973. Clifford was a First Sergeant Flight Engineer in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II stationed in Dover, England. He was owner of Wagner Cadillac in Richmond. Clifford was a member of the Republican Party, Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, Rotary Club, American Legion, and NRA. He worked with the Richmond Police Department and Wayne County Sheriff’s Department to initiate the Neighborhood Watch and Crime Stoppers. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Ann Wigley Wagner, to whom he was married June 30, 1956; children, Julie (Steve) Comer of Rushville, Indiana, David Wagner of Arizona, and Terry Wagner of Texas; daughter-in-law, Kathy Wagner; grandchildren, Angie (Chad) Catey, Nick Comer, Heather Wagner, and Ashlyn Bollinger; and great-grandchildren, Luke, Josh, Garrett, and Megan. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Wagner, and mother, Ruth Zink. Memorial visitation for Clifford C. Wagner will be from 2 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond, with military honors provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard at 4:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to: a charity of the donor’s choice or to Alzheimer’s Association, 50 E. 91st Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46209-4830.
