Obituary:
RICHMOND, Ind. – Jacqueline M. Chamness, age 87, of Richmond, died Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Arbor Trace Exceptional Senior Living. Born December 20, 1925, in Richmond, to Earl and Dorothy Hart Moore, she was a life-long resident of this area. Jacqueline attended Richmond High School and Indiana Business College. She was an accountant and office manager for many doctors in Richmond, secretary at Warner and Finley schools, and she retired as a bookkeeper and receptionist for Dr. Swonder. Jacqueline was a member of First English Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing bridge, completing crossword puzzles, IU basketball, reading, and vacationing in Michigan. Survivors include her sons, Timothy (Tamara) Chamness of Lansing, Michigan, Gregory (Victoria) Chamness of Richmond, and Jeffrey Chamness of Richmond; daughter, Debra (Michael) Harris of Richmond; six grandchildren, Toni (Adison Bucky) Jobe of Scottsdale, Arizona, Blake Chamness of Plymouth, Indiana, Teri (Michael) Silky of Summerville, South Carolina, Katelyn Harris of Urbana, Ohio, Sarah Kate Chamness of Indianapolis, and Christopher (Cassie) Harris of Richmond, California; two great-grandchildren, Michael Preston Silky and Madeline Belle Silky; nieces; nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston “Duke” Chamness who died in 2004; parents; brother, Jerry Moore; and sister, Jane Ewigleben. A Celebration of Life for Jacqueline M. Chamness will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013, at First English Lutheran Church, 2727 National Road East, Richmond, with Pastor John Walker officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
