Harry Robert Nutter

RICHMOND, Ind. – Harry Robert Nutter, age 84, of Richmond, died Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Arbor Trace Exceptional Senior Living. Born May 28, 1928, in Howard County, Indiana, to Harry V. and Clemma Mae Woodruff Nutter, he was a 1946 graduate of Kokomo High School and attended Ball State University. Harry was a food service representative of Squeri Food Service. He moved to Richmond in 1959, from Vandalia, Ohio. Harry was the founder and owner of Central Coffee Service, starting in 1959 and closing in 1975. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, having served on the vestry, and a life-member of the Richmond Elks Lodge #649. He enjoyed playing golf; traveling, especially his many trips to Las Vegas; using his computer; and creating videos for his family. Harry was a skilled craftsman who was accomplished at designing and building projects. Survivors include his daughter, Teresa “Terry” (Skip) Runnels of Richmond; daughter-in-law, Donna Nutter of Martinsville, Indiana; four grandchildren, Casey Runnels of New Albany, Indiana, Jessica Runnels of Richmond, Carl Runnels of Chicago, Illinois, and Brandon Nutter of California; sister, Tina Schmidlin of South Carolina; nieces; nephews; and many friends, including the customers he served for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara A. Chism Nutter, who died on April 15, 1998; son, Robert Michael “Mike” Nutter; and sister, Ruth Cherry. Visitation for Harry Robert Nutter will be from 4 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at First English Lutheran Church, 2727 East Main Street, Richmond, with Pastor John R. Walker officiating.
