RICHMOND, Ind. – Jeffery DeWayne Wilmot, age 56, of Richmond, died Sunday, November 11, 2012, at Reid Hospital. Born January 14, 1956, in Richmond, to Elmer Ray and Minnie Lee “Skeet” Newland Wilmot, he was a life-long resident of Richmond. Jeffery was a 1974 graduate of Richmond High School. He worked for Knowles Tool Corporation and I.T. D. Engineering. Jeffery enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, yard work, and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife and high school sweetheart, Rosalee Cunagin Wilmot, to whom he was married August 24, 1975; sons, Joseph DeWayne (Rachel) Wilmot and Douglas Matthew (Britney) Wilmot; grandchildren, Andrew, Reagan, and Shannon; father, Elmer Ray Wilmot; mother, Mary Lou Wilmot; sisters, Sandy Jo Jefferies of Naples, Florida, Kelley (Bob) McEwen of Cleveland, North Carolina, Jennifer (Michael) Stonebraker of Richmond, Diana Marie (Bruce) Alexander of Akron, Ohio, and Karen (Mike) Cooper of Richmond; brother, James Brown of Richmond; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Shirley Stella of Richmond. His caretakers were his father, Elmer Ray Wilmot and sister, Jennifer Stonebraker, and his constant companions were Buddie Odie, and Lilly-Belle. He was preceded in death by his mother, Minnie Lee “Skeet” Newland McDaniel; brother, Kip Alan Bosell Wilmot; and grandparents, Milburn and Grace Newland and Alfred and Rev. Elizabeth Smith. Visitation for Jeffery DeWayne Wilmot will be from 4 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2012, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2012, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Focht and Rev. Michael Stonebraker officiating. Burial will be in Elkhorn Cemetery.
