Mikesell, age 103, of Richmond, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at Friends Fellowship Community. Born March 23, 1909, in Richmond to Louis and Bertha Iredell Hampton, she was a life-long resident of Richmond. Lillian was a 1928 graduate of Fountain City High School and attended Earlham College. She farmed with her husband for many years. Lillian was a member of West Richmond Friends Meeting, Royal Loyal Order of Eastern Star Chapter #49, Richmond Altrusa Club, Wayne County Farm Bureau, Wimosis Club, former board member of Wayne County 4-H and Red Cross. She was a lover of IU basketball. Survivors include her daughters, Mary Anne (Jerry) Haskell of Columbus, Indiana, and Margaret (Robert) Wotherspoon of Richmond; grandchildren, Margaret Chapman, Jenny Roberts, Bobby Wotherspoon, and Ryan Wotherspoon; great-grandchildren, Blake Roberts, Emily Lillian Roberts, Chase Chapman, and Bailee Chapman; nieces; nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Pherbie Mikesell, who died in 1971; parents; brothers; and sisters. Funeral service for Lillian H. Mikesell will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2012, at West Richmond Friends Meeting, 609 West Main Street, Richmond, with Rev. Joshua Brown officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
