Thelma Maragarite Coulter

April 10th, 1918 - October 30th, 2012

RICHMOND, Ind. – Thelma Maragarite Coulter, age 94, of Richmond, peacefully passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at Brown County Health and Living Community in Nashville, Indiana. Born April 10, 1918, in Liberty, to Robert Rutledge and Lillian Marie Gambrel Hess, she lived most of her life in Richmond. Thelma was a 1936 graduate of Morton High School. In 1939, she married John Charles Coulter, to whom she was married for 66 years when he passed in 2006. Thelma worked in the office and the factory at Belden for 34 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Abington Christian Church. Thelma was a faithful Christian woman who always followed in God’s footsteps. She loved the Lord with all of her might and walked with the grace of a true Christian woman. Thelma also enjoyed singing gospel, and played the piano often. She also enjoyed watching “I Love Lucy”, and getting in a good laugh. Thelma had the gift of art and has many beautiful paintings. Lastly, she loved spending time with her family and loved ones. Thelma never liked goodbyes because they are forever, so “Tooda loo, Thelma” we will see you again soon! Survivors include her two daughters, Patricia Ann Hahn of Columbus, Indiana and Linda Marie Benner of Colorado; many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephew. She lay at rest with her husband, John Charles Coulter; son, Gary Lee Coulter; sister, Alice Maxine Oler; brother, Harold Hess; and loving parents. Visitation for Thelma M. Coulter will be from 11 to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2012, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2012, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Mangas officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
